Patricia K. Baker (Pat)

Prior to receiving my BSN from the University of Akron in 1989, I was certified in the Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth and taught natural childbirth classes for home and hospital birth couples. I continue to teach childbirth classes in my spare time. I have worked as a staff RN in the Obstetrics unit since that time.  I am a preceptor to new colleagues and develop many of the yearly competencies for staffing.  In 2003, I developed a policy for and implemented the use of essential oils targeting the most common complaints of hospital patients:  nausea/vomiting, pain, insomnia, and anxiety caused by their disease process.   In 2004, I received the Outstanding Nurse of the Year in Education award from my state nursing district for this program.  I also founded the “Random Acts of Complementary Therapies” program to allow colleagues to experience the ‘m’  technique®, Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, and Massage therapy on the first Friday of the month. I am a certified aromatherapy practitioner and “m” technique practitioner RJ Buckle Associates. I am also an ‘m’ technique® instructor.

I am an active Reiki practitioner and am blessed to use this gift daily in my private and personal practice.  My primary interest is to expand the integrative therapies program and make a difference one person at a time.

I am married to my best friend, Don.  We have seven grown children and 6 grandchildren so far.

I would be happy to travel to teach.
