Everson RN
CNOR
Claire R Everson RN CNOR
graduated from Henry Ford Hospital School of
Nursing in Detroit, Michigan in 1973. After some
time in Adult Acute Care and Labor and Delivery,
she found her true advocacy calling in
PeriOperative Nursing in 1980.
Claire
has been a PeriOperative Educator since 1985 and
was one of the founders of the Nurse
Educator/Clinical Nurse Specialists Specialty
Nurses (AORN). She is also on an Advisory Council
working towards starting a Specialty Assembly for
PeriOperative Registered Nurses interested in
Complementary Therapies.
While in Labor and Delivery, Claire was a
Childbirth Educator. During this time she empowered
her patients/clients to have as much control as
possible over their experience with emphasis on
breathing and relaxation techniques as well as
visual imagery. She taught that touch was critical
in this process. Prior to her call to clinical
education, Clarie started an Open Heart Program and
was involved in Multiple Clinical Specialities.
Her proudest statement is that she is a Breast
Cancer Survivor, and she gives credit to the
techniques she learned in the Aromatherapy for
Health Professionals course for easing her
progress through Chemo and Radiation Therapy.
She became an R
J BUCKLE
ASSOCIATES
Certified Clinical Aromatherapy Practitioner in
January 2000, a beneficiary of a grant from Banner
Health System. In November 2000, Clair was invited
to the Instructor's Course and then returned to
Arizona to put together a PeriOperative Nursing
Course from scratch.
Claire's belief in this nursing modality is
great, from both personal and professional
experience. She is committed to this program and is
willing to travel to teach the course.
