Florence A Raquepo BSN, RN, CCAP
Florence
has specialized in Neonatal nursing for 29 years. Currently she works in the Neonatal Unit at Harris Methodist Hospital (HMFW) in Fort Worth, TX, where she has been since 1995. She is an instructor for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Basic Life Support, Heartsaver First Aid and Neonatal Resuscitation Programs. She is the SPR Coordinator for the Women and Infant Division at HMFW and is an instructor in the Metroplex Perinatal Education Consortium (MPEC) - these are graduate nurse interns within the Texas Health Resources system.
Florence received her certification as a Clinical Aromatherapy Practitioner and ‘m’ Technique® Practitioner in 2004 and she was certified as an ‘m’ Technique® instructor in January 2005. Florence conducted an impressive randomized controlled study on the use of the ‘m’ technique® in her Neonatal unit for her CCAP certification. The ‘m’ technique® was found to increase the oxygen saturation rate and reduce the distress of babies following circumcision more than in the control group. She is continuing this pioneering work and hopes to publish the results early 2006.
