Denise Meske RN, BSN, COHN-S/CM, CCAP

Denise started out her nursing career in the Newborn Nursery but quickly progressed to Public Health which allowed more opportunity for developing stronger  relationships with clients and really seeing them in their own setting as opposed to the hospital experience. Towards the end of her 18 year Public Health career she developed interests in Herbal medicine and meditation. She left Public Health because she disagreed with  the amount of immunizations that was given to very young infants/children. In 1997 she switched to Employee Health Nursing where she does a wide variety of jobs and her employees have choices in relation to their own vaccines and screenings. This has been a job with a lot of personal growth and certifications and is very enjoyable. She also backs up the Infection Control nurse as needed.

Through-out this career change she been quietly nudged back to her belief in Complementary medicine and has really enjoyed some of the positive and quick results she has seen with aromatherapy. She has taught some classes for the employees of her clinic and the Behavioral Health Manager would like her to start offering basic aromatherapy classes. Her goal would be to incorporate the use of a few essential oils into the injury protocols for her employees. She would also like to be able to incorporate the antibacterial and antiviral properties of the oils. To this aim, she is going to work with her lab technicians to set up culture and sensitivity testing to show the antimicrobial efficacy of the oils to  staff and physicians.

Denise completed the Clinical Aromatherpy course in August of 2004 and passed her certification exam in March 2005. She became an instructor for course in May 2005.

Denise is happy to travel nationally and internationally to teach.
