Bev Speir
Prior to my complementary therapy career I was a Bio Scientist for 12 years. My very first course was taken as a gift for my husband. Enjoying it greatly I took another and then another, my love for it has grown all these years and branched in many different directions. Eventually I made the decision to cut down my full time employment to part time when my interests in Complementary Therapies began to expand. Then in July of this year I left my position in order to pursue my practice full time.
It was in the early1990’s in Ontario Canada I started my life in Complementary Therapies. First taking a Reflexology course through the College of Natural Healing. Following this I completed an Aromatherapy course, Ear Candling and Reiki Levels 1 and 2. Finally, qualifying in and teaching Educational Kinesiology.
In 1997 I took the On-site Massage course from the Touch Pro Institute, the people who originated the technique, and worked using that extensively. I also took Therapeutic Touch Courses, which I eventually began to teach in Manitoba for the Provincial Association.
My love of natural therapies continued after we moved to England and in 2002 I completed the ITEC Anatomy, Physiology and Massage course. Since then I have qualified in Bowen Technique (2003 – BTAA) and have taken several Bowen related courses following initial qualification. I have taken Advanced Aromatherapy and Hypnotherapy with the School of Natural Health Sciences. Also, I have taken more Hypnotherapy with the MindCare Organisation UK and am continuing my studies in Hypnotherapy. I have recently completed Level 3 of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), which I took from UK Master Karl Dawson.
I took the “M Technique” course in May 2006. Not only am I using this with Seniors but practise it on all of my Aromatherapy clients. I have found calling it physical hypnotherapy apt as it is incredibly effective for pain relief, relaxation and decreasing stress. I am passionate about teaching this course as I feel it has so much to offer people, especially those who have ill friends and family. I am willing to teach anywhere in the UK and Ireland. |
